Life Rolls On: Adjustment after Spinal Cord Injury

While browsing You Tube I came across a young man who is about the same age as I with a spinal cord injury. He is a quad who is 28 years old. The video I watched was short but left me encouraged and in tears all at once. The video was a clip of a day in the life of Michael-Ryan Pattison. As I was sitting there watching this guy who portrayed courage and determination I began to think of the thousands of people who are affected by spinal cord injury around the world. I have met so many amazing people with disabilities who have continued their lives after an injury. Michael-Ryan Pattison is one of many who are stepping out to try and raise awareness for people with disabilities. My dream is to one day have able bodied people look at someone with a disability and see that not all of us give up on life. They will see that instead we have gone on with life. For those of you with a disability that has gone on with life lets work together to encourage those who want to give up and congratulate those who have gone on. You can watch the video of Michael-Ryan Pattison below...
